Citrus fruits such as bergamot, mandarin, lemon and orange have, like few other perfume raw materials such a strong connection to the Mediterranean region. Several of them have historically developed as botanical hybrids of each other, and are used in the perfume industry to give sharpness and freshness to a number of different fragrance families.
In this lecture you will learn all about the history of citrus fruits, as well as how they are grown and used in the perfume industry. In collaboration with the world-leading raw material producers Laboratoire Monique Rémy and IFF, we will smell a range of different raw materials, side by side with contemporary perfumes from Nordiska Kompaniet.
